My background is in Management and Training mainly for the Civil Service, training people in management skills. This gave me experience in building rapport and enabling people. I am a CIPD qualified trainer.

I started my counselling journey through my own experience of Relate and realised there was something quite fundamental in counselling and I learnt a lot about myself and how to make changes I wanted in my life. I started training to be a qualified counsellor in 2005 and have attained the Advanced Diploma in Integrative Counselling from the Iron Mill College, Exeter. Working integratively means I am able to adapt the way we work to best suit you, this could mean using more creative ways of exploration.

My experience involves working for:-

  • Cruse Bereavement Care – counselling those bereaved and Cruse Trainer
  • Dorset Listening Service – counselling those over 50
  • Dorset County Hospital – counselling patients and relatives of the Renal and Oncology Departments.
  • Weldmar Hospicecare – counselling patients and their relatives who use the Hospice Services
  • In Private Practice – counselling people for a variety of different reasons
